Meet Chef Lindsay:
Having grown up on a farm, with a great cook as a mom and an avid gardener for a father, I learned the appreciation of food early on. Since leaving the farm, I have amassed many experiences that have led me to start this business. I started cooking when I was 18, flipping pancakes and frying eggs and I soon realized this passion for cooking needed to be fed. Off to the East Coast! I graduated with a diploma in Culinary Arts from the Culinary Institute of Canada. From there, I worked in fine dining establishments in P.E.I., Maine, Regina and Saskatoon and obtained my Red Seal (Journeyman) certification. My love of travel and food sent me to Italy and a magical spot in the Tuscan hills called La Petraia. An Agriturismo, La Petraia is a fabulous place to rest your head, fill your belly and take in the magestic scenery. Here, I worked on the farm; tending to the animals, bees, grape vines, fruit trees, vegetable gardens and lavender fields. I would forage for wild edibles, collect eggs and pick vegetables and then prepare them under the direction of the Chef/Owner Susan Mckenna Grant. It was here that food and the importance of where it came from, spoke straight to my heart. Returning home, I put all that I learned into practice at Weczeria Food and Wine, where I was the Chef de Cuisine for 2 years. Since then, I’ve had the honor of becoming a mom to two delightful little girls who love to eat noodles!!
